Calefax and Tony Overwater Trio have been travelling with the Far East revisited for quiet some time. Now, half way the tour, after visiting China, India and Turkey, it is time to bring our first musical experiences back to the Netherlands!

This Amsterdam concert, in the spectacular Concert Hall of the 21st Century Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ features music from three different perspectives; composition we collected during our travels (Demirel, Chalhoub, Aaj ki raat), new pieces by Dutch composers (including band members) giving their musical impression on the Middle and Far East. And last but not least we will keep paying tribute to the father of this whole project, Duke Ellington, and play parts of his Far East Suite. A swinging amalgam of musical dialog!
